Our Inmarsat iSatPhone 2 satellite phone rentals can be used anywhere except the polar regions and places near the polar regions (Highlands, Northern Canada, Alaska etc.), where mountains may block your view towards the equator).

We supply our Inmarsat iSatPhone 2 satellite phone rentals in tiny cases measuring only 20x5x5cm with a total weight of only 920g, a good 50% lighter and smaller than what you will find from our competitors.

Also included is our own highly practical charging solution being USB car and wall plug adaptors with USB charging cable that you can plug into any USB port. Optionally you can add a solar charger if required.

Rentals returned later than the booked time-frame will be charged at £6.50 per day.

Should you use 80% or more of your pre-purchased airtime allowance during your trip, we will automatically recharge your account with another 30 minutes of airtime at a cost of £50.

How to Use iSatPhone 2

SOS Button

If you have rented your iSatPhone 2 and you want to be able to make use of the SOS button on your phone, you will need to contact GEOS and buy travel insurance and or search and rescue insurance prior to your travels. You will be required to register your rental phone with GEOS prior to departure, and you will also need to deregister it from GEOS after your return. There is a USD50 handling fee for us to handle deregistration on your behalf.

Simply register your phone at http://www.geosalliance.com/inmarsat and you can travel with the peace of mind of knowing that when you press that SOS button, the guys at GEOS will know you’re in trouble. During registration you will inform GEOS of who your emergency contacts are, so that when you press the SOS button they know which relatives, friends, or colleagues to notify that you’re in trouble.

If you intend to be able to make use of the SOS button in an emergency it is imperative that you test it before your departure from civilisation to make sure that it functions correctly and that you are satisfied that it is working OK. Please note that, the standard service from GEOS does not include any search and rescue (SAR) services. Should you want search and rescue you can sign up for that as an optional extra, at a nominal fee. See the GEOS website for details.

    Was looking for a sat phone to rent whilst away on an ocean sailing adventure. After looking at many websites I found Ashbury satcom and was impressed with the prices on offer. The deposit required with Ashbury was significantly less that the competitors and the rental prices and tariff charges were very good.
    Having decided to go with Ashbury I was very impressed with the level of service Charles gave me, I had a number of questions about text messaging and the sending of automated tracking messages so our shore support could ensure we had up to date weather forecasts. Charles also gave me the phone number of the handset they were supplying prior to dispatch so we could link this with our PLB and EPIRB on-board. The phone was delivered in good time in a sturdy Pelican case with all chargers required, a simple set of instructions was sent out via email which also had a method for sending free texts to the phone which was great for weather forecasts on a daily basis.
    Great service and quality kit that made our voyage a much more pleasant experience.
